SwipEd ("SwipEd", "we", "us") is an education centre that matches students with teachers for one-to-one lessons. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at swipedhk.com and the services offered through it.

2. Information we collect

When you submit a "Find my teacher" request, apply to teach, or create an account, we may collect:

• Identity & contact details — name, email, phone number, and (for students) age, grade/year and school.
• Learning details — the subject, syllabus and goals you tell us about.
• Account details — your username and a securely hashed password (we never see your password in plain text).
• Messages — if messaging is enabled for your account, the messages you exchange with a matched teacher or student.

• To match students with suitable teachers and arrange lessons.
• To contact you about your request, match, or account.
• To operate, secure and improve our service.

4. How it is stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, our backend provider, with access restricted by row-level security so that signed-in users can only see their own records (and SwipEd staff can administer matches). We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: the teacher or student you are matched with (limited to what's needed to run lessons), our service providers (such as our hosting and backend provider), and authorities where required by law.

7. Your choices & rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you. To make a request, use the contact details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Cookies

We use only the essential storage needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above when we do.
